The Postgraduate Programme
As well as offering a comprehensive programme of undergraduate courses the College also makes provision for students who may wish to engage in theological studies at postgraduate level.
Our main postgraduate programme is the MA in Theology offered through the University of Chester*. Those who study for the MA are often students who want to build on their undergraduate studies in theology. Others who join the programme are involved in ministry and wish to further their ministerial development. Still others hold a degree in a discipline other than theology and now wish to study for a theological qualification.
The MA programme is a part-time, varied and practical programme that offers different pathways to the final award.
Course Structure
The course begins with the compulsory Study Skills module, after which the student takes one module from each stream. A final module can be chosen from any stream. To complete the MA a dissertation will also need to be submitted.

PhD
We also invite enquiries from those interested in pursuing a PhD by writing an original thesis on an area of specialist research. This may be of interest to those who are perhaps considering teaching and lecturing and who already hold a postgraduate qualification in Theology or a cognate discipline at Masters level.
Enquiries about doctoral research should be directed to the Director of Postgraduate Studies through the contact form or by calling the College on +44 (0)2892619267
