Religious Freedom and the Edict of Milan - listen to talk

Irish Baptist Historical Society

Listen to Dr. Maurice Dowling's talk on
“The Edict of Milan: 313 A.D.”

Given 10 October 2013 at the Baptist Centre

The persecution of Christians ended in 313 when Constantine I and Licinius met in Milan and established a policy of religious freedom which assured Christians of legal rights and religious toleration.

The agreement began a process that would lead to the dominance of Christianity within the Roman Empire and the emergence of the “Christian Empire”.

The repercussions of the Edict of Milan are still being felt today and present us with a fascinating subject for consideration.
